Family and Children Services Program provides a wide variety of programs to children and their families. First Resources began offering these services in 1988 to three counties. Today, services are provided in 14 counties.
Life Skills Group
is designed to provide interpersonal skills training and other competency development to youth in a small group setting. Skills are taught in anger management, victim empathy, relationship development, acceptance of responsibilities, and problem solving.
Gender Specific Life Skills
is a program designed to help young at risk women develop healthy life skills with the goal of enhancing interpersonal adjustment, reducing law violations, and preventing out of home placement. Participants must be female, between the ages of 13 - 17, and reside in Wapello or Mahaska Counties.
